The Asaro head helps a lot to understand the planes of the head, but you need to use it right. In this video I show you how to practice with the Asaro head and how to simplify lighting and shading. As a beginner, you shouldn't think about reflected light, halftones or even a second light source. When shading a face, think about the basics. Use only 2 values! This way you can clearly separate light and shadow on the face. You can gradually increase the difficulty by adding more values, but do it step by step.
